Okay. Oh. My. God. Slightly hyperventilating over here. Why? Here's why.. Because I just found this Gumball Guitar.  I love it. Love LOVE love it. Sure, I can't afford it. Sure, it might not be practical. But I don't care - because this might be one of my favorite centerpiece ideas ever.

Summer Snowfall

Sure, it's 800 degrees outside. Fine, the sun is scorching and it feels like an eternal Bikram Yoga class. And, yes, winter seems a long way off.  BUT - what better time to think about snow flakes and pine trees and winter white than when we are actually craving the cold?  Here's hoping this provides some of you a much needed breather from the sweat and humidity.

July 25th. Get ready for it.  Mad Men. It's back on.  And life becomes infinitely better. Those drinks, those dresses, those dapper men I can't stop drooling over! Wedding planning can feel like you're part of a carnival troupe.  You have to fly through hoops and walk a tight line; there are costume changes and dance steps and sometimes even cake in the face.  Of course, in the end, all the clown tears and somersaulting will be totally worth it.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

There's a heat wave going on in DC right now.  Scorching sun, sweaty sandals, searing sunburns. Thank goodness for the rooftop pool.  And the gelato place that just opened up down the block.  Not to say I don't love ice cream year round.  Because I do.  I just love it even more right now.  

Which is why I dedicate this post to all the ice cream lovers out there. Embrace your dairy addiction (forget about the calories for goodness sake!) and let your guests melt with adoration as you incorporate ice cream into your nuptials:
