Paper Wedding Dresses

Share

Talk about time intensive - these dresses were all made out of paper.  PAPER! Pretty impressive; but it also makes my accident prone body cringe a little - what if I tripped and it ripped? What if I spilled something on it? Super absorbent, maybe. But practical...???

Would you dare to wear a paper wedding gown? Is this trend eco-chic or a big ol' heck no?

It's a Mad Mad Wedding

Share
July 25th. Get ready for it.  Mad Men. It's back on.  And life becomes infinitely better. Those drinks, those dresses, those dapper men I can't stop drooling over! I don't want to rush the summer away, but I can barely contain my excitement for the start of this amazing, makes me wish I lived in Manhattan in the 60s, television show.

To tide me - and you - over for another couple of weeks... here are some Mad Men inspired, 60s styled wedding ideas:

One Shoulder Dresses

Share
I've scheduled my first wedding dress shopping weekend and now I've got bridal gowns on the brain. And here's what I realized as I've pored over magazines... Whether it's a one shoulder wedding gown held up by flowers and lace or a one shoulder bridal shower dress adorned with feathers... lately I've been going gaga for one shoulder everything:

Twinkle Toes

Share
I love heels - the height they give you, the way they make your legs longer, the fact that they're artwork for your feet.  The only problem?  I can't wear them.  Seriously - I've tried.  But 20 minutes in, the balls of my feet are screaming, I've almost broken my ankle five times and a blister has likely formed on both my heels.

Sigh.

So while I plan to wear beautiful heels as I walk down the aisle, I need a backup plan for when it comes time to kick up my feet and dance, dance, dance.

Which is why, when I heard about Redfoot, I jumped up and down.  These shoes are designed to fold up and slip into your purse.  Really! You can store them in your chic handbag and then swap them with your strappy sandals or mile high heels when your feet need a bit of a break.

Thanks to this fabulous company I can have my heels and wear my flats too!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Each shoe from the Sex and the City line is fabulous! Can you guess which shoe fits which character?
